Allen High School is a public secondary school serving students in grades 9 through 12 in the community of Allen, Texas. With an enrollment exceeding 5,000 students, it is one the largest schools in Texas. The school’s current location has expanded to approximately 880,000 square feet and features state-of-the-art career, technology, and athletics centers.
Allen High School wanted to implement a high-impact, low-maintenance digital signage system that could display school slogans, announcements, and student media projects. The display system would also need to allow additional content sources to be added over time. Since the system would be installed in a space with a curved wall, it would need a custom mounting system that could wrap around the contours of the wall.
Allen High School’s architecture firm selected CineMassive to provide the school’s digital signage solution. CineMassive was chosen because its turn-key solutions approach enabled it to deliver a custom display solution within an efficient time-frame.
CineMassive met with the architecture firm and school stakeholders to design a solution that could both satisfy the school’s current requirements and enable upgrades over time to support new technologies. CineMassive provided an array of products and services to support the implementation.
For the display, CineMassive designed and built a variable-radius curved LCD video wall that wrapped around the contours of the space. The eighteen-panel-long video wall provided a clear, high-resolution display for Allen High School’s content.
The display system was powered by a CineMassive Alpha video wall controller. The Alpha created a multi-HD visual canvas and enabled content to be scaled to the unusual aspect ratio of the video wall without loss of resolution or clarity. Because the Alpha could support multiple content sources, including digital signage players, TV tuners, and DVD-ROM players, the school could play a wide range of content on the video wall. The Alpha’s flexibility future-proofed the system, enabling the school to easily add additional content sources in the future.
CineMassive further enhanced the system with the Bravo DS, a customized digital signage controller. The Bravo’s ultra-high-resolution playback capabilities allowed any combination of video, scrolling text, or images to be displayed on the video wall.
Because the video wall was visible from both above and below, CineMassive designed a custom enclosure that would allow proper panel ventilation and hide all cables and components. CineMassive’s installation team finished the project within an aggressive construction timeline and provided on-site end-user training.
By leveraging CineMassive’s digital signage technology, Allen High School implemented a versatile display platform for its videos, announcements, and student projects, reinforcing the school’s identity as a state-of-the-art learning center.
