In tactical operation arenas, command centers rely on intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) data to make critical decisions. Such decisions not only make the difference between mission success or failure, but are often matter of life or death. The need for reliable ISR data cannot be overestimated. The importance of dynamic collaboration systems is essential in these operations. Equally significant are the special mission training (SMT) operations that prepare key personnel for duty. Hyper-realistic training materials and simulations create an environment in which team members safely experience the types of challenges that occur in the field. Such scenarios build the mental skills necessary for high-pressure, technically complex, and time-sensitive mission performance. The same visual intelligence systems which serve tactical operations also streamline the training efforts behind these exceptional teams.
CineMassive recently had the privilege of working with MAG Aerospace to design and install a state-of-the-art visual collaboration platform. MAG Aerospace is a leader in providing and enabling real-time situational awareness to help its customers, “making the world smaller and safer™.” MAG delivers a full spectrum C5ISR services, including integration, operations, training, and specialty aviation services such as special mission training for customers from around the world.
MAG’s Special Mission Training (SMT) Division enables training for joint terminal attack controllers in both administrative and tactical environments. The company’s training programs are based on realistic simulations and a “train-as-you-fight” philosophy that leverages advanced visual intelligence solutions to prepare men and women to confidently handle conflict in the tactical arena.
Over the years, the company’s training center has gone through several evolutions. What started as a few screens in a maintenance closet evolved into a much larger and technically advanced facility. However, the visual technology systems were not integrated and therefore not functional enough to provide training scenarios with realistic tactical timing. That’s when MAG decided to upgrade to true visual collaboration technology to become fully integrated. This would allow them to provide a more realistic sensory experience for users to demonstrate the efficiencies and realism associated with company operations.
MAG turned to CineMassive to upgrade their training center’s visual collaboration system. As previous members of Joint Special Operations Task Forces, leadership within the company had experienced the caliber of CineMassive’s offerings first-hand in other theatre operations.
CineMassive worked with the company to design an optimal solution to elevate and strengthen the training experience. The team at MAG Aerospace had a firm idea of what it wanted. CineMassive validated spatial planning and design feasibility. The company ultimately implemented an eight-panel video wall to provide high definition, multi-source viewing. this system included CineNet, CineMassive’s proprietary critical visual collaboration platform. CineNet allows MAG Aerospace to easily control video wall content without the need for technical resources.
The flexibility, scale, and full integration of CineMassive’s solution allows MAG Aerospace to execute training with multiple teams simultaneously. These training sessions might include terminal attack controllers, special staff members assigned to operations positions, fire support officers, commanders, and/or target engagement authority.
The implementation of CineMassive’s video wall and visual collaboration solutions was instrumental in helping MAG Aerospace create a fully integrated, functional, scalable, and operational TOC. Servicemembers experience a realistic tactical environment that has greatly improved the overall special mission training experience.
The ability to easily control content through CineNet has been a game-changer for MAG Aerospace’s SMT division. The efficiency and ease-of-use is unrivaled and critical to delivering a realistic simulation. It has also helped the company remain compliant with current COVID-19 restrictions. Since they only need one screen manager to control content, the solution minimizes the manpower required to run training exercises.
Looking forward, the company anticipates further expanding the TOC’s control room to meet the needs of its customers and partners. The scalability of CineMassive’s solution helps open the door to endless growth possibilities.
